Saturday evening we arrived at the church in Sacramento, with plenty of time to spare. We got there around 4:30pm, unpacked and got settled in for the night. About 30min before we went to bed, we had a night time discussion about 1 Peter 4:8-11. It talked about all the attributes you would need when you serve others in order to glorify God. Some attributes were to be hospitable without any grumbling, to speak the very words of God, to love, for love covers a multitude of sins, etc. We talked about what we believed would be the hardest attribute to maintain for us over this trip and throughout our service sites. For the group that I talked with, we all concluded that depending on God and not ourselves would be the hardest for us. We believed that would be the hardest attribute because we as humans tend to think that we know best. In doing that, we gain control over the situations that are thrown our way. In reality, if we depended on God, we would be able to surpass what we think we are capable of and instead grow more than we ever thought we could. Overall the trip has been very good, and no complications…which is odd.
