Today has just
been a lot of driving, I can’t express how happy I was to get settled in at the
church we are in, somewhere near the bottom of Idaho. It was a long time and
little leg room, but we made it at about 5:30 in the afternoon. I am excited to
see what will happen tomorrow, because nothing much has happened today, with
the exception of driving, of course. I hope I will be able to put myself out
there and meet new people, but that is easier said than done. However, that is
my goal, I am not the most social person, but I thrive to be, so this is my
opportunity to make that a reality, hopefully. I am also excited to see the
impact I will make on others, even though I have no clue what to expect. I don’t
like the unknown, but this is not exactly, “unknown”. I know the schedule, I
know what will happen (for the most part), but I don’t know who I will meet.
That is the party that will push me the most, and I am excited for it, but
everything you are excited for has a downside, and for me it is my lack of
social skills. But I am excited to put myself to the test. My hopes for this
trip is to influence the people I meet, and to also be influenced, and take
things I have done in Denver back to Washington. The car ride today was long of
course, but it was actually really well, I only used my phone for one hour over
about an eight-hour drive. I really was not focused on it given how much
distractions were thrown at me through the drive. I am excited to write more
further on as I go and gain more experience meeting new people, and I hope to
have meant my goal of meeting to people and being able to share my impactfully
learning through the trip.

ReplyDeleteSocial skills are not easy for some of us. I just try to remember that I can talk to The God of the universe and He is always there as my back up. There have been times when years later I found out how an interaction I don't even remember made a difference in someone else's life. God will help you get out of this experience what He has plan ed for you.
