Blogging for my first day of service - Andrew King

Today my group went to an organization called Metro Ministries.   Metro Ministries is an mobile foodbank that goes around to 36 different locations and set up a foodbank for anyone who want to get food.  We served food to homeless vets, older people, and women with children.  It was very eye opening to ask people if they wanted mac and cheese and they said no because they have no way to cook it.  Some people were very nice and warm, and others were more hostile in how they talked and acted.  It was a great experience to help these people that we called guest.  The lead guy Robert was a man who seemed to love what he did.  He was so nice no matter the actions toward him, and he always stayed positive.  This was a great experience and I had fun learning and serving.

  1. Great job guys! One of the best parts of a mission trip is learning about people who are different and have different lives than we do. Eye opening for sure! I also think that it is great experience in general for life as people don’t always act the way we hope they might and we have to learn how to deal with all kinds of personalities! Great job! 😀Julie T
