This blog is about what
I, Slug (Sofia), have done today and what my thoughts are about the trip so
far. Our groups left today at roughly 6 am, and had multiple stops. My group
consisted of Laura, Phil, Zane, and Scott and we took a couple of pit stops,
one including stopping in Weed, California. During the 10 hour drive, we all
played Uno a lot, talked about the most random things possible, sang many songs
from the weird radio stations and ate QUITE a bit of snacks. (by the way mom if
you’re seeing this, I still didn’t eat the salad). Today was a very good day to
communicate and get along with the group I was with.
Today’s bible group time had a lot of
thorough thinking and not only what things people do that annoy us, but what WE
do ourselves that may be annoying or agitating towards others. This group time
for me was focusing more on how you effect others, than how others effect you.
We also had to write a prayer, not a “on the spot give me a prayer quick”, we
were all able to think and get all of our thoughts on paper.
My prayer was about Philippians 2:1-11,
“God, I need more guidance to remind
myself that I may be just as confused, or could be in the same place someone
else is if they don’t get a task or how to say/do something. Guide me on this
trip to not get annoyed and to rather help someone even if they don’t get what
the task is the first time, or the second time, or even possibly the third
time. I will help others, and make sure that they are at the same place the
rest of the group is and not to be left behind. We are all human beings, we
should not consider ourselves to be higher in this trip. We all need to be
getting something, and no one should be left in the dark.”
Sofia, I'll keep praying for you this week as you serve everyone around you. Your humble spirit and your beautiful smile is going to have a huge impact on many this week. Enjoy your time and at some point you should eat the salad that is served so you can make your mama happy. I'm sure she is missing you like crazy. Love, Tammy
ReplyDeleteSounds like you all have had lots of bonding time and are learning how to better yourself to accommodate others. That isn’t always easy. Keep up the good work. Something we should all learn to do more of. Thanks! Casey
