The Attitude of Christ - Holly Kirby

Hey guys!!! What’s up? It’s ya girl Holly!! Back at it again, with another blog!! As I am writing, it is 9 pm. I am quite sleep deprived and tired. All this week and preparation has lead up to this. Though I haven’t been feeling very “excited” for the serving and mission, to be honest. Tonight we have been talking about how we think this week is going to go. I have pretty high hopes. I am gradually gaining excitement, as the car rides are coming to an end. My hopes and or expectations for tomorrow are… That once we get to Youth Works that we will have enough time to get settled and I will be able to make some new friends in the first night were there. Not many hopes for the food. I am wanting this week to be a jam packed week full of fun times and hard work.

Tonight we learned how to have the attitude of Christ. Through reading Philippians 2:1-11, 13. After reading these few verses we were told to write down what we wanted to pray about, just anything that stood out to us. My prayer was

Dear God,

I pray that you can help me with showing compassion and being genuine

I hope that this week you can help to show me to not boast and think poorly of others just because I know you.

I pray for your help in having your attitude about everything. As it is our attitude that makes or breaks any experience.

Lastly I need your help in addressing issues head on with humbleness and being genuine.

I pray that when I do address issues, that you will give me all the right things to say, tone of voice, body language etc.

Also that you can help me with everything you talked about in these few verses because I know I could use a lot of help with all of this.

I just wanted help with everything and anything as I don’t know what to think of any of this. At the very end of the devotion we read our prayers aloud. I really enjoyed the devotion and hope to pray this every morning.

Thanks for reading!!!
