Day 2 - Desirable - Hayley

       Even though I’ve been on four mission trips, you never know exactly what’s going to happen. I knew that the schedule and food was going to be similar, but the experiences are always different. When we went to a new work site yesterday, we kind of got off the original plan of what we thought was going to happen. We were sent to the Avalon Hotel which is a hundred year old hotel that’s been converted into apartments for low income individuals. When we showed up, they weren’t expecting us. They told us to see the manager of the site.

       When we went to her, she was so happy and said we were a God send. We ended up just cleaning the kitchen and building, but she was so grateful for the help. After we were done, it ended up being that we were actually supposed to go upstairs to work with a different person. It was kind of cool how it turned out that way and we wouldn’t have helped Jenny (the manager) who really was so happy she got help. Sometimes when it feels like you’re not really making a difference in small things you do and when you feel unwanted by people, you can always be wanted somewhere and by God. You are never undesirable.
