This whole trip started with me praying for patience. If you have been following me for a while, you would know that this is something I struggle with. One the first day of service I prayed for patience but then my service site got somewhat cancelled and the patience fell thin. On the second day of service, I prayed for patience but then people started getting on my nerves. On the third day of service I prayed for patience but it still did not come.
As I got out of the shower at the end of the third day I had an epiphany. Both me and the people I love have been praying for patience this whole trip. I have been waiting and waiting for God to just magically hand me the patience that I want. Not realizing this whole trip God had been giving me opportunities to work on and grow the patience that I have been praying so much for. Major fail on my part.
Sometimes we think that just because you prayed to God about something he will just hand you what you asked for. When he doesn't just hand it to you directly, you sit and wait, hoping that one day he will answer your prayer. We don't realize that a lot of the time he has answered the prayers you just don't like the way he answered them. You have to put the work in yourself. I can pray for patience all I want, but all God is going to do is keep throwing me opportunities to grow that patience. It is up to me to use those opportunities to grow.
