This Week - Levi Sy

This week on the mission trip I have been working at two different places, the San Francisco Food Bank and the churches kids camp. For me it has been hard to see at the kids camp to see how I am really helping these kids learn about God and what the purpose of me helping is. After having a long discussion with Sara, I was able to see that just by being here helping at this camp I might be helping a kid have fun who, after going home isn't able to. When thinking about this post I looked up a verse  to tie in and found Matthew 28: 20. "And teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age (Matthew 28: 20)." This verse reminds me that not only is God with us in the big parts of my life, But He is also with us in the mundane things, like brushing teeth. On Monday my group (Wicked) was at the food bank which had through miscommunication, was over run with volunteers. My group was then sent to wash plastic food box cards. Julie later pointed out that even though we were bored while doing it, it would take several employees to clean them and not be able to find donations for the food bank. I hope to remember the verse once I come home so that I can remember even when I am doing small things I am with God.

Yes I think God is with us most when we are doing the small things, and I am sure He will use all you did for good. I also think this trip was a special time for growth for each one of you, and your leaders!! Keep being a blessing!
