Jordan recounts the long drive to Sacramento....

Today is July 23, 2011 and we left at 6 o’clock this morning… we arrived in northern Cali. around noon, checkpoint! “Do you have any fruit in there ma’am? Oh, you have some fruit, may I have them please?” This is the time that we must surrender all fruity goodness of our lunchboxes. This was it. The pinnacle of the trip, the dumbstruck silence ensued for many moments…  buh buh buh buuuuuuuuuuh! And yet they refused all remnants of previously whole fruititious entities, the “border patrol” let us keep all bananas, and you guessed it… THE MIGHTY PEACH PITS!!!!  (Zion likes those)
The time seemed to pass on and on as we were frisked ever so slowly through the 400 miles of Cali. Past every truck stop, every rest station, every exit, every restaurant, until we passed through a town called Weed, which brightened our ever dreary lives when we saw the gift shop. In actuality it was a small “town.”
The time was 5:30pm, all of us, tired, hot, bored, arrived in Sacramento. Our spirits risen, we needed no invitation to storm the church’s gym, and basketball ensued for hours before dinner was finished. … 10 o’clock. Bedtime!
